Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mentient ("Mentient," "we," "us," or "our"), including our website, dashboard, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

If you're using the Service on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

Mentient monitors public mentions of brands and keywords you specify across Reddit and the broader web, analyzes sentiment using third-party AI models, and delivers alerts and summaries via email and integrations such as Slack. The Service depends on third-party data sources and AI providers; we don't guarantee completeness, accuracy, or availability of any mention data, sentiment classification, or AI-generated summary.

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• Each subscription plan includes specific limits (brands, keywords, monthly mentions, seats, monitoring frequency, and data retention) as described on our pricing page and in your account.
• Team accounts may add additional users ("seats") up to their plan's seat limit. The account owner is responsible for their team's use of the Service.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or fail to pay applicable fees.

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected at signup) until cancelled. Payments for Mentient are processed by our payment provider, Paddle.com, who acts as the merchant of record for all transactions. By subscribing, you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future billing but does not retroactively refund prior charges, except as described in our Refund Policy.

We may change plan pricing or features with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to monitor or collect data in violation of applicable law or a third-party platform's terms of service.
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, or access controls.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service or its underlying data without our written permission.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the privacy of any individual identified in mention data.

Mentions are sourced from publicly available content on platforms including Reddit and general web search results, using third-party data providers. Sentiment analysis and AI-generated summaries are produced by third-party AI models. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of third-party platforms or AI outputs, and AI-generated summaries should not be treated as professional advice.

Mentient and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the brand names, keywords, and configuration data you enter into the Service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT MENTION DATA OR SENTIMENT ANALYSIS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MENTIENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, including non-payment of fees due.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
