Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Mentient ("we," "us," "our") collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. It applies to our website and dashboard (collectively, the "Service").

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and company details you choose to provide.

Brand monitoring configuration. The brand names and keywords you set up to monitor, and your alert/notification preferences (email address, Slack webhook URL).

Mention data. Publicly available content matching your monitored keywords, sourced from platforms like Reddit and general web search, along with AI-generated sentiment scores and summaries derived from that content.

Billing information. Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, Paddle. We do not store your card number or full payment details -- Paddle processes and stores that information as the merchant of record.

Usage data. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected for security and service-improvement purposes.

• To provide and operate the Service, including fetching, analyzing, and delivering mention data.
• To send the email and Slack alerts and digests you've configured.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions (via Paddle).
• To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse of the Service.
• To respond to support requests and improve the Service.

We rely on the following categories of third-party providers to operate Mentient:

• Supabase -- database, authentication, and storage infrastructure.
• Vercel -- application hosting.
• Apify and DataForSEO -- sourcing of Reddit and web mention data.
• OpenRouter (and underlying AI model providers) -- sentiment analysis and AI-generated summaries.
• Resend -- transactional and alert email delivery.
• Paddle -- payment processing and billing, acting as merchant of record.

Each provider processes data only as necessary to deliver their part of the Service, under their own privacy and security commitments.

Mention data is retained according to your plan's historical retention period, after which it's automatically and permanently deleted by a scheduled process. Account information is retained for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you wish to reactivate, after which it may be deleted upon request.

If you join a team account as a member, the account owner and other team members can see the brands and mentions associated with that team's shared workspace. Your personal notification preferences (email address, Slack webhook) remain private to you and are not shared with other team members.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update most account information directly in Settings, or contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, row-level access controls on our database, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the Service before they take effect.
